ATLANTA, Ga. (WGXA) — The FBI Atlanta Division is working with local law enforcement to investigate the recent increase in swatting calls at colleges in Georgia and across the U.S.
In a statement, the FBI Atlanta says it is aware of the recent swatting incidents at ” a number of colleges and entities across the state of Georgia” and that they “take potential hoax threats seriously because it puts innocent people at risk.”
On Tuesday, multiple law enforcement agencies responded to Central Georgia Technical College’s Macon Campus and Rutland High School after receiving calls about an active shooter on campus.
