DeKalb County has seen a chilling escalation of violence that culminated in the harrowing deaths of Tomekia Pullins and a young child, Dior Scott. William Almond, Pullins’ estranged husband, faces a litany of charges in connection to the gruesome incidents. The indictment, released Thursday, levies two counts of Malice Murder, five counts of Felony Murder, and numerous other charges against Almond. Amongst the charges are Aggravated Assault – Family Violence, Cruelty to Children, and Sexual Battery.
According to details from the DeKalb County District Attorney’s Office, Almond’s interactions with Pullins were marred by violence, with police responding to domestic disturbances on three separate occasions earlier this year. Each allegation adds to a broader, distressing portrait of a relationship steeped in intimidation and harm, echoing tragedies all too common in tales of domestic abuse.
The case’s progression is now largely in the hands of the legal system, as Almond remains behind bars without option for bond. The Grand Jury’s indictment also includes charges from two prior attacks on Pullins, on February 22 and January 1.
