Montgomery County firefighter’s family expecting daughter after 108 years of welcoming only boys

A young couple is expecting a baby girl after the man’s family tree has been dominated by sons for generations. The Sherman family had a girl born into their family 108 years ago.

The century-long boy streak, however, suddenly came to a stop when the family found out that a daughter was on the way, thanks to Montgomery County Lt. firefighter Michael Sherman and his wife, Joacquia Sherman.

“I never thought this day would come — to be the first ‘girl dad’ in more than a century is humbling and exciting,” Michael told Fox26 Houston…
