Clinton Mayers, 19, was taken into custody following the ambush of an armored vehicle and the shooting of its driver outside of an Atlanta Kroger, according to a federal affidavit. He attempted to steal the driver’s gun after firing at him and took over $100,000, officials said.
The FBI is now the lead agency in this case and the affidavit, which was submitted in federal court, offers fresh information about the incident.
