Cobb crime spree: Group charged with violent robberies, carjacking across county

A group of suspects have been indicted on 38 charges related to a string of violent armed robberies across the county in early 2024, one of which caused Kennesaw State University to go on lockdown.

The four suspects in this case are Giovanni Brown, 21, of Lithonia; Alijah Carter, 20, of Decatur; Khalil Lloyd, 18, of Atlanta; and Jermaine Phipps, Jr., of Roswell.

Each suspect’s arrest warrant lists a fifth person also connected to the crimes, though this final suspect was not listed in Friday’s list of indictments. All suspects have been charged together as a group and are now facing a multitude of charges including armed robbery, aggravated assault and criminal damage to property…
