5 Mexican Nationals Arrested In Georgia With Over 1,000 Pounds Of Meth Linked To CJNG Cartel

Federal authorities in Atlanta say undercover operations last week led to the seizure of more than 1,000 pounds of methamphetamine, the arrests of five people tied to two trafficking rings, and the disruption of alleged networks linked to Mexicos violent Cartel de Jalisco Nueva Generación (CJNG).

“Within just a few days, undercover investigations in the metro Atlanta area led to the seizure of more than half a ton of methamphetamine, the arrests of four illegal aliens allegedly responsible for distributing those deadly drugs, and the disruption of two drug trafficking rings,” said U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Georgia Theodore S. Hertzberg. “My office will continue to proudly partner with federal, state, and local crimefighters to protect the public and eliminate the scourge of drug trafficking.”

According to court documents, the investigation unfolded in two stages. On Sept. 15, Wilber Castellanos Villazana allegedly sold one kilogram of methamphetamine to an undercover Drug Enforcement Administration agent at an apartment complex in DeKalb County. Later the same day, law enforcement said Castellanos Villazana sold additional narcotics to two other individuals from an Acura vehicle…
