Actor and singer Tyrese Gibson, best known for his roles in the Fast & Furious franchise, was booked into Fulton County Jail early Friday on a misdemeanor charge of cruelty to animals. Gibson was released on a $20,000 bond after turning himself in.
The arrest stems from a September 18 incident in Buckhead, where one of Gibson’s Cane Corso mastiffs fatally mauled a neighbor’s 5-year-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Henry in the smaller dog’s own yard. Henry’s owner told FOX 5 Atlanta that he discovered his beloved pet’s body late that night, covered in slobber, and described the loss as “heartbreaking.” He also said Gibson’s dogs were often seen roaming the neighborhood off-leash prior to the attack.
Henry had been a cherished family companion for years and was well-known in the Buckhead community for his gentle and playful nature. “Henry wasn’t just a pet; he was family,” the owner said. “His loss has left a hole in our hearts, and the neighborhood feels it too.
