Teen charged in 2023 shooting death of 13-year-old near skating rink reaches plea deal

DULUTH, Ga. — The teen perpetrator in a 2023 shooting that killed 13-year-old Deshon Dubose will spend four years in jail under a plea deal reached to resolve the case, court records show.

According to the records, Chiurazzi Bailey Jr. entered a negotiated plea that dropped charges of felony murder, murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He’ll serve four years in jail for second degree murder.

The deal gave Bailey Jr. first offender status for his convictions, which in addition to second degree murder included second degree cruelty to children and discharge of a gun near a public highway…
