Bond set at $80K for former College Park police sergeant after deadly I-285 crash

Bond has been set at $80K Friday morning for a former College Park police sergeant charged in a deadly hit-and-run crash that killed two people during what investigators call an “unauthorized” chase.

Former Sgt. Donnie Smith has been held in the Clayton County Jail for several weeks. He faces multiple felony charges, including first-degree vehicular homicide, hit-and-run, reckless driving, and violation of oath by a public officer.
