On a busy Atlanta street corner, a man’s effort to earn a living by selling water turned violent when a dispute escalated into gunfire. DeMarcus Buford, aged 32, was the victim of this unexpected attack which occurred on Tuesday afternoon near the Cleveland Avenue exit at I-75. According to FOX 5 Atlanta, the altercation began with an exchange of words between Buford and an individual driving a black Jeep. The conflict seemed to cool off when the driver left the scene, only to return later with a female accomplice, who recorded the incident on video.
Buford was found injured but conscious by the responding officers who arrived just after 3:24 p.m., with a gunshot wound to his left arm. Medical crews present treated him right there on the corner where, moments earlier, he had hoped to engage the city’s parched in commerce. As reported by 11Alive, the Atlanta Police responded promptly to the 911 call, and according to their statement, they found the man “alert and breathing.”
Yet, the chase for justice remains complicated. The police have not released a detailed description of the black Jeep. Furthermore, it’s uncertain if Buford’s condition is considered serious, and one has commented on whether he has detailed his account to the authorities. Investigators are left to wonder if the female recording the scene in the Jeep was a suspect or witness, and no information has been disclosed about any surveillance video capturing the altercation or the assailant’s license plate…
