ATLANTA — In Southwest Atlanta, Peter Farruggia is taking things day by day. He lives by the mantra worn in ink on his arm: fight for the things you care about.

Now, Farruggia is fighting to stay in his home. He’s on the brink of eviction after not being paid for weeks. His last paycheck, a partial one, came in the second week of October.
