Police: Woman shoplifts with kids and has hit and run crash during flight

Kendra Shanae Franklin, 35, of St. Louis, Missouri, is accused of shoplifting 24 articles of athletic clothing, worth $677.31, from Dick’s Sporting Goods at Cumberland Mall, on June 21, 2024, with three children helping grab clothing for her to conceal in two plastic bags, according to an arrest warrant from the Cobb County Police Department.

Franklin then left with the children and got into her Enterprise rental car, a black 2003 Chrysler Pacifica.

Police were notified by Dick’s loss prevention of the vehicle and an officer conducted a traffic stop in the parking lot in front of the store. Franklin refused to exit the vehicle and never opened her door or any windows to listen to officers. Franklin then accelerated out of the parking lot and onto Akers Mill Road, and continued to the red light intersection of Akers Mill Road and Cobb Parkway, according to the warrant…
