ATLANTA, GEORGIA – A frightening road rage confrontation on I-20 escalated into a near-shooting when an Alabama father wrestled a gun out of another driver’s hand after the man allegedly pointed the weapon at his 14-year-old son during an argument on the roadside. The incident unfolded after Brandon Parker, an Alabama resident, was reportedly rear-ended by another driver, Christolyn Momon, who then attempted to leave the scene.

Rear-End Collision Leads to Confrontation

According to the family, Parker stepped out of his vehicle after being rear-ended in traffic. When the other driver, identified as Christolyn Momon, allegedly tried to flee, Parker confronted him on the shoulder of the interstate. At that moment, Parker’s teenage son began recording the encounter, aiming to document the other driver’s attempt to leave after the collision.

As soon as the teen began filming, the situation escalated dramatically. Momon allegedly pulled out a handgun and pointed it directly at the 14-year-old boy, causing immediate panic. Witness video captured part of the confrontation, showing the gun in Momon’s hand before the struggle.

The family stated that the sight of his son being threatened prompted Parker to jump into action. Realizing the danger, he moved quickly to disarm the man.

Parker managed to wrestle the handgun away from Momon during the confrontation. In the physical struggle over the weapon, the gun went off, firing a shot into the ground. Fortunately, no one was hit, and the firearm was secured before the situation escalated further.
