Delta flight headed from Atlanta diverted due to ‘mechanical issue’

ATLANTA — Some passengers’ holiday travel plans were interrupted the day before Thanksgiving. A Delta Air Lines flight from Atlanta had diverted on Wednesday after the plane experienced a “mechanical issue,” a spokesperson said.

Delta flight 787 from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport was headed to Spokane when the problem occurred. The flight had to be diverted to Salt Lake City instead, according to the airline spokesperson.
