A Georgia mother told police the moments before her 11-year-old daughter’s killing felt “like a dream,” before officers found the child stabbed, cleaned and staged in a living room recliner with a blanket and Bible devotional book.
Jail records reviewed by PEOPLE show that Shannen Grimes, 52, is charged with murder, first-degree cruelty to children, possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of a felony and tampering with evidence in connection with the Nov. 15 death of her daughter, Genesis Grimes.
Sandy Springs police detective Isaiah Tomlin testified at a Dec. 10 hearing that Grimes told investigators “I never intended to kill my daughter” and described the period before officers arrived as “being like ‘a dream,’” according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution…
