Acworth man charged for leaving pistol in Durham Middle School bathroom

The Acworth man who allegedly brought a firearm to Durham Middle School earlier this month has been charged and released on bond.

Anthony Lee Crisp, 37, is accused of leaving a semi-automatic pistol in the stall of a restroom accessible to students during a school event Dec. 3, according to his arrest warrant.

The weapon was discovered during an evening sixth grade performance at the school, per the Cobb County School District. In a message to parents that night, Principal Shannon Thorpe said the weapon was noticed during intermission and immediately reported and confiscated.
