ATLANTA — Christian Wise Smith, a former Fulton County prosecutor and justice system reform advocate, announced a campaign Tuesday morning for Georgia labor commissioner.
Wise Smith has previously run for for Fulton County district attorney and, in his announcement, said his campaign would be about transforming “an often-overlooked office into the state’s most powerful advocate for working families facing an affordability crisis.”
His Democratic campaign, the announcement said, would take its inspiration from the “bold government action during an economic crisis” in the style of President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s New Deal program…
