WATCH: 5-year-old boy with autism saved from storm drain by Atlanta police

ATLANTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – Newly released bodycam footage shows the moments Gwinnett County police saved a young boy with autism from a storm drain.

On Nov. 15, officers were called to Peachtree Ridge Park after the 5-year-old went missing from the playground. About 40 minutes into the search, an officer noticed that a fence by a nearby retention pond had been pulled up and went to investigate, finding a sewer drain.

Video shows the officer calling into the drain and hearing the child. Another officer crawled into the drain and found the boy a few hundred feet in, while a third led them to the nearest drain hole cover…
