ATLANTA — Gospel legend and “world-renowned artist” Richard Smallwood died a few days before the new year at age 77.
Born in Atlanta on November 30, 1948, and raised in Washington, D.C., Smallwood developed a love for music at a very early age thanks to his mother, according to his autobiography, and by age eleven, he had formed his own gospel group.
