Inmate Escapes From Work Detail, Dougherty County Deputies Launch Manhunt

DOUGHERTY COUNTY, GA – The Dougherty County Sheriff’s Office is searching for an inmate who escaped from a work detail Tuesday morning, January 13th.

According to the sheriff’s office, inmate William “Billy” Hagan escaped at approximately 10:17 a.m. while assigned to an inmate work detail. A coordinated search is now underway with assistance from multiple law enforcement agencies.

Hagan is currently serving a sentence related to a probation violation and has several pending charges, including four counts of trafficking in cocaine, four counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, five counts involving Schedule II controlled substances, and two counts related to drug paraphernalia…
