Crews battle house fire and bitter cold temperatures in Atlanta neighborhood

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — A vacant house in southwest Atlanta was destroyed by fire early Thursday morning, but quick action by a neighbor and firefighters prevented any injuries.

The fire broke out around 5 a.m. on Browning Street SW at the corner of Federal Drive SW, near Mosley Park.

A neighbor heading to work spotted smoke coming from the house and immediately called 911, according to Atlanta Fire Rescue officials…
