ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — One person was injured Sunday while trying to save human remains from a fire that destroyed Cook Brothers Funeral Directors and Cremations.
Blake Cook, a cousin of the funeral home owner, was treated for smoke inhalation and minor injuries at Grady Memorial Hospital after running into the burning building to locate remains.
Firefighters worked throughout Monday to extinguish hot spots that continued flaring up in the debris of the centuries-old building. The fire department successfully recovered five bodies and a dozen sets of ashes from the building…
