Police: Mableton boy left outside overnight in sub freezing temperatures

Devonjae Strong, 34, and Regina Bell Strong, of Mableton, are accused of cruelty to children on Jan. 12 at 11 p.m. at a residence at 461 Hilltop Circle, Mableton, according to an arrest warrant from the Cobb County Police Department.

On Jan. 13 at 7 a.m., police were dispatched regarding a boy who had been outside from 11 p.m. to 2 a.m. wearing only a t-shirt, shorts and no shoes. The boy was let into a neighbor’s home at 2 a.m. and slept on a couch since he could not get back into his home, according to the warrant.

Devonjae and Regina Strong are accused of leaving the boy outside in sub freezing temperatures without making a reasonable effort to get him into the residence. In her warrant, police say that Regina Strong was aware, due to prior incidents with the boy, on how to call emergency services if the boy ran away, but no effort was made to contact emergency services in this case, according to the warrant…
