CHAMBLEE, Georgia – The Chamblee Police Department is mourning the loss of Sergeant Loc D. Tran, who passed away Friday, January 16, 2026, at the age of 42 due to medical complications.
Sergeant Tran devoted his life to service, both in uniform overseas and here at home. He proudly served in the United States Army from July 2002 to July 2007 as an Army Pharmacy Specialist, providing medical and pharmaceutical care in troop medical clinics, combat support hospitals, and medical centers for both military personnel and civilians. He completed his service with the rank of Specialist (E-4).
After his military service, Tran continued his commitment to public service, working with the Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office before graduating from the Piedmont Technical College Police Academy in December 2010.
