Rights group says 8 months pregnant 21-year-old deported out of Atlanta airport amid medical distress

ATLANTA — The Robert & Ethel Kennedy Human Rights Center said Wednesday that a 21-year-old woman who is eight months pregnant is being deported out of Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport amidst what it described as a medical distress situation.

The rights group said the woman, identified as Zharick Daniela Buitrago Ortiz, was in an Atlanta airport concourse with “intense, shooting pain in her back and abdomen” as ICE was “attempting to remove her while her asylum application is pending.”
