Intoxication, fight lead to arrest at west Cobb restaurant

Daniel Luther Williamson, 24, of Powder Springs, is accused of becoming highly intoxicated on alcoholic beverages at a friend’s birthday dinner on Jan. 18 at 10:07 p.m. at Hidalgos Mexican Restaurant, 3600 Dallas Highway, Marietta, according to an arrest warrant from the Cobb County Police Department.

Williamson got into a physical altercation with another patron of the restaurant. The two men fought outside. The second man, who was not part of the birthday dinner group, left the scene prior to police arriving. Williamson repeatedly attempted to stand up and walk away while being detained. He was warned about trying to walk away and getting in the faces of officers in a threatening manner. Williamson continued to act belligerent and walk away from officers, according to the warrant.

Williamson is charged with fighting public place/affray; obstruction/hindering law enforcement; and public drunk. He was arrested on Jan. 18 at 10:29 p.m. and booked into the Cobb County Adult Detention Center, according to jail records…
