Health care billionaire Rick Jackson enters Georgia governor’s race with $50M on hand

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — Rick Jackson, the billionaire founder of a major Georgia health care company, has entered the state’s nationally watched governor’s race.

On Tuesday, the founder and CEO of Jackson Healthcare launched his campaign by announcing he is seeding it with $50 million, which includes a $40 million advertising buy that begins airing Feb. 4.

Jackson is also kicking off his campaign at his Alpharetta-based company at 2 p.m. Wednesday.
