Fugitive caught after fleeing murder trial

A man who was on trial for a killing that took place at a Stone Mountain gas station is back in the custody of authorities after leaving the state during court proceedings.

Officials with the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Unit said they received assistance from the U.S. Marshals Service in Alabama in arresting 29-year-old Jeremy Collins after he stopped appearing for his murder trial.

Authorities said Collins initially appeared in court to face charges including malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony in connection with the August 2021 death of Keng Wilson
