Representing herself, former Douglas County judge found not guilty for role in fight outside Buckhead nightclub

ATLANTA — A former Douglas County judge has been found not guilty in connection with her 2024 arrest outside a Buckhead nightclub after she represented herself in court during the trial.

Christina Peterson was accused of interfering with a police officer who was breaking up a fight outside Red Martini Restaurant and Lounge.

Prosecutors initially charged Peterson with felony willful obstruction of a police officer by using threats or violence and simple battery against a police officer, but her felony charges were later dropped in November “for want of prosecution.” She then faced one count of misdemeanor obstruction, alleging she interfered with an officer’s efforts to control the scene…
