Smyrna man charged in DUI crash that injured driver

David Darail Henderson, 40, of Smyrna, is accused of driving a black Kia Telluride while under the influence of alcohol on Feb. 28 at 7:32 p.m. at the intersection of Village Parkway and Woodlands Drive in Smyrna, according to an arrest warrant from the Smyrna Police Department.

Henderson ran a red light and struck another vehicle in the intersection. The driver of the other vehicle became entrapped and suffered broken ribs on the left side of his body, according to the warrant.

Police said Henderson had bloodshot, glazed over eyes, slurred speech and the odor of an alcoholic beverage on him. He consented to field sobriety tests and six out of six clues were observed, after which Henderson refused to cooperate with testing.
