Teen arrested in deadly Lawrenceville street race crash

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — An 18-year-old Duluth teen is facing a homicide by vehicle charge after Gwinnett County police say an illegal street race in Lawrenceville ended in a deadly crash that killed a 28-year-old driver.

The crash happened around 6:09 p.m. Monday at North Brown Road and Sugarloaf Parkway in Lawrenceville, according to the warrants. Gwinnett County police said two drivers were racing near Breckinridge Boulevard when one vehicle flew off the roadway and hit a tree. The driver of that vehicle, 28-year-old Dodi Andre Headlam, died in the crash.
