At the DeKalb County Animal Services in Georgia, a dog named Kano had been waiting far longer than anyone hoped.
For five long months, he greeted every passerby with an eager wag of his tail, hoping this might finally be the day someone chose him. But each time, people kept walking.
The shelter staff adored him and gave him the nickname Skillet, since no one knew his real name. He was playful, sweet, and full of energy, yet somehow, he kept being passed by.
Eventually, the shelter got too full, and Kano was transferred to another facility in Atlanta: LifeLine Animal Project’s adoption center.
