Warrants: Man accused in deadly stabbing of 4-year-old prevented child from receiving medical aid

ATLANTA — Arrest warrants for a man accused of stabbing a 4-year-old are revealing new details about the incident that left the child dead.

Atlanta Police said Zuri Dixon died after she was taken to the hospital on March 14 with multiple lacerations. Officers were called to an address on Alison Court on at around 11:30 p.m. and found a man holding the “seriously injured 4-year-old,” police said. Officers report they safely retrieved Zuri from the man, who appeared to be suffering from lacerations on his body.

The suspect, 34-year-old Rashard Dixon, was later arrested on multiple charges, including murder, aggravated assault, cruelty to children, first degree, simple assault, possession of a knife, two counts of criminal damage to property and false imprisonment.

Warrants for Dixon state that he prevented Zuri from receiving medical aid following the incident.

Jazzuri Rouse, a woman who was later identified as her mother, is mentioned in the warrants, indicating that she was trying to get help for her child, but Dixon kept blocking her attempts…
