Woman accused of shooting and killing 61-year-old bystander in Clarkston as she tried to shoot someone else she thought stole drugs from her

CLARKSTON, Ga. — A woman arrested this week in Clarkston is accused of killing a random bystander when she shot at someone she thought had stolen drugs from her, according to arrest warrants.

According to warrants, 42-year-old Denisha Everson believed she had been robbed earlier on March 30. She allegedly told police that when she was in the parking lot of the Clarkston Food Mart on North Indian Creek Drive, “she saw her robber’s car, she got out and started shooting at it.”

But the person she hit was not the robber; it was a 61-year-old bystander who was killed in the shooting. Police said the man and his vehicle were shot 11 times. The shooting was captured on surveillance videos in the parking lot…
