Atlanta-based UPS is capping its driver buyout program at 7,500

The Atlanta-based United Parcel Service has agreed to cap its Driver Choice Program to 7,500 drivers. It allows those workers to voluntarily leave.

After the Teamsters claimed the delivery giant violated its contract by unilaterally offering drivers $150,000 to resign, the two sides have reached an agreement.

About 105,000 drivers are eligible. Offers will be made to long-haul feeder drivers and Regular Package Car Drivers, based on seniority and business needs, across all regions of the country…
