Cobb delays decision on gas station near elementary school after public outcry

MARIETTA — On Tuesday, the Cobb County Planning Commission ordered a 30-day pause on deciding the future of the former site of the historic McAfee House along Bells Ferry Road.

By unanimous vote, the commission delayed an application to build a RaceTrac gas station on the property, located at 2595 Bells Ferry Road, near the intersection of Barrett Parkway and across from Bells Ferry Elementary School, after public outcry against the development.
