Two people arrested following large meth bust in Georgia

GEORGIA — Two men are facing federal drug trafficking charges after authorities say they were caught with a large quanity of methamphetamine intended for distribution in metro Atlanta.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Georgia, Alberto Ortiz-Osornio and Marco Antonio Solano-Posadas are accused of trafficking approximately 85 kilograms — nearly 200 pounds — of methamphetamine in Norcross.

Federal investigators said the arrests stem from an ongoing Drug Enforcement Administration investigation conducted on April 3. Authorities allege Ortiz was seen placing two large 12-gallon bins into his vehicle outside his home before driving a short distance to meet Solano.
