Waffle House workers rally in Atlanta, demand $25-an-hour wage and safer conditions

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — Waffle House workers rallied in downtown Atlanta on Friday, saying they are frustrated with low pay and what they describe as unsafe working conditions.

Workers gathered alongside the United Southern Service Workers union outside a Waffle House on Andrew Young International Boulevard, calling for immediate changes. Their demands include a $25 hourly wage, an end to employees paying for meals while on shift and 24/7 security at restaurants.
