Augusta Tech Foundation Receives $10,000 for GED Testing Vouchers

The Augusta Technical College Foundation secured a $10,000 grant from the Dollar General Literacy Foundation. The money will cover high school equivalency testing vouchers. This award came during a single-day distribution when nearly $16 million in grants went out across 48 states where Dollar General runs stores.

Testing costs have blocked many adult learners from completing credentials. The vouchers will eliminate that financial obstacle. Students in the Adult Education Program can now take GED and high school equivalency tests without paying out of pocket.

“For many adult learners, earning a high school equivalency credential is a life-changing step, but the cost of testing can stand in the way,” said Angela Moseley, Dean of Adult Education, per Augusta CEO. “This grant helps remove that barrier and gives students the opportunity to move forward toward better jobs, college enrollment, and a stronger future for themselves and their families.”…
