Patriots literally towered over the British to retake besieged Augusta

A siege during the American Revolution lasting more than two weeks reclaimed the city of Augusta from the British thanks to a technique borrowed from ancient warfare.

British Loyalist Lt. Col. Thomas Brown and his regiment of rangers had captured Augusta in June 1780 and fended off a four-day Patriot siege three months later.
