Aiken County Schools Secure Nearly $18K in Grant Funding for STEM Projects

Aiken County Public School District nabbed $17,750 through Innovative Teaching Mini Grant Awards from Savannah River Nuclear Solutions for 2026. Twenty-seven teachers will use the money to launch supplemental projects at their schools.

Savannah River Nuclear Solutions distributed $75,000 to almost 110 educators from the Central Savannah River Area and Orangeburg County during a reception in Aiken. Teachers will tackle physics. Others will work on literacy. Math gets attention too. So does gardening.

Dana Ergle at Aiken Intermediate School snagged $500 for her project “Promoting Mathematical Growth on the Patio.” She’ll build a patio-like spot inside her classroom for small group lessons, adding fake trees, string lights, and a patio table…
