AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) – Construction is still ongoing on 12th and 13th Streets in Downtown Augusta, and an estimated completion date has now been moved to Sept. 14, 2026.
It had originally been scheduled to be finished by Aug. 28, 2026.
“There are lots of places here that people can fall and bump and slip. Not only that, but business is just cutting in half,” said Jeanie Norton, who lives in Augusta. “It’s slow going and there’s not enough sidewalks. It needs to be done in sections. My personal opinion, needs to be done in sections, that people can still get across the road.”…
