AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) – Frank Yerby is a well-known novelist who has written and published 33 books, including The Vixens and The Foxes of Harrow, which was the first novel by an African American to sell more than a million copies, according to historians.
However, most people may not know or realize that Frank Yerby was born in Augusta, Georgia, which is why the Augusta Literary Festival along with the Lucy Craft Laney Museum of Black History honors his life and legacy every year with the Frank Yerby Celebration.
This year’s celebration takes place Thursday, September 3rd through Saturday, September 5th with several activities and events.
