Augusta arena reaches major milestone with topping-out ceremony

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – Crews held a topping-out ceremony Tuesday morning, marking the highest piece of steel going into Augusta’s new arena.

Officials said the project remains on time and on budget.

Construction crews have poured more than 15,000 cubic yards of concrete and installed more than 2,100 tons of structural steel to reach the topping-out stage. About 215 workers are currently on site each day as work shifts to interiors and systems inside the shell of the building…
