AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – The Department of Veterans Affairs is sending more than $43 million to Georgia to help veterans who are homeless or at risk of losing their housing.
The announcement came a day after Augusta released the results of its 2026 homeless count. The annual “point in time” count in January found 375 homeless people in Richmond County, down from a total of 1,098 in 2025.
