AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – The Richmond County School System has fired five school resource officers and disciplined a sixth after a state law enforcement review raised serious concerns about their ability to serve as peace officers.
The move follows findings and recommendations from the Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training Council involving members of the Richmond County School System Police Department – the same department already under scrutiny in a 12 On Your Side investigation into a fired officer’s lawsuit against the district.
The district says it has terminated the employment of:
- Anthony Dubois Sr.
- Wallace Lebrane
- Kara Lundy
- Jacquez Williams
- Nathan Mercer
