AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – Augusta-Richmond County leaders on Friday approved new property tax rates that will all be lower than last year, even as the city continues to work through a tight budget.
City officials stress that a lower millage rate doesn’t automatically mean every property owner will see a smaller bill. Final tax bills can still go up or down depending on your home’s assessed value, exemptions, improvements and which taxing district you live in.
Some Georgia and South Carolina drivers are eligible for relief under a $694 million multistate settlement with one of the nation’s largest subprime auto lenders.
