Hotel Tupelo sold out ahead of Ole Miss-LSU game

TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) — Hotel rooms in Oxford are sold out ahead of Saturday’s Ole Miss-LSU game, and one Tupelo boutique hotel is also fully booked for the weekend.

Hotel Tupelo has 79 rooms, and all of them are booked for the game. Assistant General Manager Andrew Hainsworth told WTVA’s Avery Hilliard that people have been booking rooms since June and July. The hotel has been sold out since the first week of September.

Hainsworth said the hotel raised its prices slightly for the weekend. Room prices on the hotel’s website started at $450 and went up to $499.

“We’ve just been trying to get all our housekeepers in there to make sure all of our rooms are good,” Hainsworth said. “This is a major game. It’s the first SEC game for Ole Miss, and you know when you get to the first few games everybody’s excited about the SEC games.”…
