An Aiken teenager died Wednesday morning after crashing into a tree.
Emily Heath, 18, of Aiken, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a news release from the Aiken County Coroner’s Office.
At 9:50 a.m., Heath was driving north on Green Pond Road when she crossed the center line, overcorrected and traveled off the right side of the road, hitting a tree, according to the release.
The coroner’s office and South Carolina Highway Patrol are investigating, according to the release. A toxicology analysis is pending.
