AUGUSTA, GA (WJBF)- New businesses in the area mean more reasons to go out. Friday night brought plenty of foot traffic downtown
“I love it down here it’s just a different feel downtoen ” said Britne Howard, owner of Bettr Locs 4U.
Britne Howard is the owner of Bettr Locs 4U. She specializes in hair care for locs and alopecia, her salon has been in the heart of downtown for almost a decade.
Howard says she’s seen a tremendous change in downtown over the years.
” I get a lot of people out of town coming to visit especially the James Brown Statue a lot of new businesses a lot of different varieties of food that I’ve noticed versus 10 years ago and then it brings more people and more allows me to show off my business” said Britne Howard, owner of Bettr Locs 4U.
Margaret Woodard with the Downtown Development Authority says the number of businesses coming in will continue to grow.
“I believe in 21 we had a net gain of 52 business 2022 was 47 and we’ll have our statistics for last year done next week and I think we’re going to be around the same amount” Margaret Woodard, Downtown Development Authority.
